Back Story
When we moved into our house, we had always planned on putting up a fence surrounding our backyard, mainly for our dog, Gracie, to have a place to run around without us having to constantly keep an eye on her. We hired a general contractor to put the fence in, and they came out, estimated the amount of wood needed, and we paid for that amount.
The fence sub-contractor came out to put the fence in, and after it was complete, let’s just say there was some of the fence wood left over. Talking with the sub-contractor that came out to install the fence, he asked if we wanted the leftover wood to use in the future. They said they would leave it for us and in fact, helped us move it from the driveway to our garage that night. The picture will give you an idea of what the pile looked like. Why yes. That IS a lot of wood.
As a side note, this trellis project is the second project that used some of the left over wood from the fence. The first project was when I had to turn our back gate around so that it swung outwards, instead of inward. But that’s a topic for another post…
